Dancing in the Streets is celebration of classic music of Motown, from the heart of the Motor City - Detroit..

Over the years, Motown has become synonymous with some of the greatest names in black soul music – the Four Tops, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, the Jackson Five, Gladys Knight and the Pips, the Commodores, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and the Supremes – the list is endless. 

The Dancing in the Streets company re-create the energy, style and music of the stars of the Motown stable. Together they will certainly have you dancing in the aisles!

Back by popular demand! 

Saturday night see the eagerly anticipated return of Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra; after his sell out appearance at Oakley Hall in 2006.

In 1987 Jools formed The Jools Holland Big Band comprising entirely of himself and Gilson Lavis. This has gradually metamorphosed into the current 18 piece Rhythm and Blues Orchestra which currently consists of 1 pianist, 1 drummer, 2 female vocals, 1 guitar, 1 bass guitar, 1 organ, 2 tenor saxophones, 2 alto saxophones, 1 baritone saxophone, 3 trumpets and 4 trombones.

Jools and the Rhythm and Blues Orchestra now plays an average of 100 live shows a year, touring Britain and the world to audiences of 500,000.

II CONCERT INFORMATION
 

Gates open 6.00pm. Concert starts approx. 7.30pm
Concert finishes approx 10.15pm with a fireworks finale.

Seating is not provided. Please bring your own folding chairs, if required, and picnic rugs. Out of courtesy to your fellow concert-goers, tables are not allowed.  Please bring a torch for use at the end of the evening.

For health and safety reasons barbeques and candles may not be brought into Oakley Hall. Naked flames are not permitted in the concert area.

Flash photography, videos and recording devices of any sort are not permitted.

II GETTING TO OAKLEY HALL
 

By Road:

Oakley Hall is situated just off the M3 at junction 7.  Follow the A30 towards Oakley, then continue along the B3400 to Oakley Hall.

By Rail:

Basingstoke is on the main line from Waterloo to the West and the journey time is approximately 42 minutes. Oakley Hall is 15 minutes from the station.
